There is nothing more satisfying than starting your own home based business and making that first sale, so if you are looking to get started or are in the early stages of your online business, then you've come to the right place. Whether you are selling ebooks, affiliate marketing, or selling high-ticket coaching products, your business can benefit hugely from having a blog.
If you don't know, a blog is simply a website that you use to put content out for others to read and learn from, which is a fantastic way to build your online presence, build a fan-base, and ultimately earn more money from your online business.
If you don't have a blog yet and recognize the value it will bring to your online business, then the following five steps will get you started immediately:
#1 - Get web-hosting
If you have an online business then you absolutely have to have a web-hosting service in place. If you already use someone for one of your websites, simply purchase a new domain and get started. If you don't yet have a website or web-hosting, you can find a very cheap and reliable service by doing a simple search on Google.
#2 - Upload a free theme for your blog
Once you have decided on a domain name for your blog and you have your site ready, simply upload a free theme for your blog. There are literally thousands of themes out there, so find one that suits your tastes and upload it. Then get busy making it look how you want it to look.
#3 - Get an autoresponder so you can start building your list
Using your blog as the central hub for your business is very necessary, and since you will have lots of people landing on your blog, you will want to make sure you collect people's names and email addresses so they will be added to your list and you can advertise to them in the future. If you don't yet have an autoresponder service, get one fast, because everyday you go without an autoresponder is a day you are leaving money on the table.
#4 - Make a schedule for your blog posts
It is important to be consistent with your blogging, so develop yourself a schedule for how often you will create content and release it for others to read. The higher the quality the less often you will release a new post, so a good balance between quality and quantity is essential for success.
#5 - Learn how to drive tons of traffic to your blog
Without traffic your blog will not make you money, so learn how to drive massive amounts of traffic to your site. You can use article marketing, PPC, or any other form of traffic-generation so long as it gets you the results you need for success.
